The new RoHS Directive 2011/65/EC also called as RoHS2 become effective on 3 January 2013. This directive involve the same hazardous substances and the same maximum concentration limits as old RoHS directive 2002/95/EC. Therefore all products compliant to old directive remain compliant to the substances restrictions of RoHS2.
RoHS2 involve the same six hazardous substances: lead (0,1%), mercury (0,1%), cadmium (0,01%), hexavalent chromium (0,1%), polybrominated biphenyls [PBB] (0,1%), polybrominated diphenyl ethers [PBDE] (0,1%).
Please be advised that CE marking for RoHS2 only applies to finished electrical and electronic equipment (EEE article 3 (1), (2), and (5)). The
use of the CE mark is not allowed on products not in scope of an EU Directive.
